DFE was established in 1958, in the initial stage, the company has successively developed products such as slide projectors, hand-cranked generators, microwave stabilizers and photoelectric input machines, which are famous in China.In 1982, the company cooperated with Shandong University of Technology to develop China's first microcomputer based power tele-control equipment, bringing the company into the field of power automation system, and the company entered the fast track of development. In 2007, the company began to transform and upgrade. Under the guidance of the advanced management system, the company expanded from a single "power grid industry " to three major industries, including smart grid, Internet of Things, energy saving, and maintained double-digit growth for more than ten consecutive years.
After more than 60 years of development, the company now has become a large enterprise group comprised of 1 listed company, 20 ownership and investment companies, with total assets of 5.8 billion yuan(828 million USD equivalent), 5,800 employees, with an average age of 32 years. Among them, 22 are professor, 16 are doctors, and 480 are masters. The proportion of employees with bachelor degree or above is 60%.
DFE has a country recognized enterprise technology center and a post-doctoral research workstation. It participates in the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) international standard formulation as representative from China, and exports technology and services to North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. It has been among the top 100 software companies in China for many years. It has ranked top in the domestic market share of China's electric power automation industry for more than ten years. In recent years, it has ranked first in terms of total exports in the area.
