In May 1983, the first prototype of DCX-4 microcomputer-based remote terminal unit (RTU) conducted trail operation in Qingdao Electric Power Bureau.
In 1985, the microcomputer-based RTU equipment was introduced to the whole country, accounting for 25% of the country's 211 districted dispatch systems.
In 1987, Yantai Computer Co., Ltd. was established through the merger of Yantai No.6 Radio Broadcast Equipment Factory with Yantai No.3 Radio Broadcast Equipment Factory.
In 1989, the company implemented the business division system and set up five business divisions.
In 1991, “Yantai DFE Information Industry Group” was established, and entered a period of large-scale, diversified and leap-forward development.
In 1996, the company was recognized as a national enterprise technology center.
On January 21, 1997, the company was listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange, with stock name “DFE” and stock code “000682”.
In 1998, the Postdoctoral Research Station was approved.
In 2003, the Electric Energy Division, the Information Management Division, and the Network Engineering Company implemented diversified investment entities. Dongfang Wisdom Electric Co., Ltd., Yantai Haiyi Software Co., Ltd. and Yantai Dongfang Zongheng Technology Co., Ltd. were established.
